GreatWall Hobby's first aircraft kit features the same high level of detail as their military kits. There are six sprues of grey plastic, one decal sheet with two marking options and one photo etched fret.
The Fw189 was regarded as one of the most successful German reconnaissance planes of WWII and this kit captures the lines and shape of the Fw189 beautifully. There is a fully detailed cockpit, including the rear facing machine guns, all of which will be easy to see through the large canopies. Because of the size and intricacy of the canopies, GreatWall Hobby have included the pre-cut masks for the canopies, removing the rather tedious task of having to cut masking tape or film.
Both engines have been reproduced in great detail and the wiring looms are provided on the photo etch fret, which is a nice touch. All of the control surfaces are movable and the engine covers are supplied as separate parts, along with two maintenance stands that provide scope for possible dioramas.
